Celebration of National Philanthropy Day with the RI Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
Join us for the biggest celebration of philanthropy in Rhode Island - National Philanthropy Day (NPD. Last year, more than 700 people attended from non-profit organizations from around the state.
Each year at National Philanthropy Day, AFP-RI Chapter honors an outstanding individual, corporation, business and service organization which have made an extraordinary contribution to philanthropy and volunteerism in Rhode Island. The 2008 award winners are:
Outstanding Service Organization – Urban Collaborative Accelerated Program
Outstanding Philanthropic Corporation – Bank of America
Outstanding Philanthropic Business – Lefkowitz, Garfinkel, Champi & DeRienzo PC
Outstanding Philanthropic Citizen – Marjorie Brightman Catanzaro
The Chapter is also pleased to announce the establishment of the Herbert
Kaplan Youth in Philanthropy Scholarship, which will be awarded to a high
school senior for the first time at NPD this year. Herb Kaplan was tireless fundraising professional that served on more than 30 non-profits in his lifetime and passed away recently.

Over 700 individuals from RI businesses, foundations and nonprofit organizations gather at the National Philanthropy Day celebration to honor the award winners. In addition to the four statewide awards, over 100 Partners in Philanthropy (PIPs) are also honored by the nonprofit organizations they support.
